If you or your family have decided that a loved one can no longer care for themself either financially or otherwise, the Leigh Law Group can advise and represent you in all matters related to conservatorships.

Conservatorships assist when an individual has either physical or mental limitations which no longer permit them to care for themselves as defined by California law. Conservatorships require court approval.

If your family member has been placed in a 5150, a temporary conservatorship or an LPS conservatorship due to mental illness, we can assist you through that process and help you and your family understand your rights.

The Leigh Law Group can help you as follows:

Help you determine what type of conservatorship is appropriate in
light of the needs presented;
Assist you and your family in gathering all of the appropriate
information necessary such as meeting with any treating physicians or
obtaining assessments/evaluations;
Prepare and file all of the required documentation before the
appropriate court;
Advise on you on the rights and responsibilities you will face when
and if you are appointed as the conservator
Advise you with respect to any services or practitioners that may be
necessary while you or another family member are acting as the
conservator.
